There is surmounted evidence that juicing is beneficial for your immune system. I began juicing twenty-one years ago! Sure, here and there I may have missed a day or two. Usually, because I was water fasting. But overall my go-to “food” is my life-blood… juice!

Now more than ever it is imperative that you juice! I mean let’s face it, the world is a VERY unhealthy place! With all the viruses floating around, don’t you think it’s time you juice?

Look, friend, I know what you’re thinking. You are thinking it’s a pain in your ass to clean your juicer! You’re are thinking you don’t have the time! I’m here to PROVE to you that you DO have the time!

1) Heighten your vibration!

Many people develop clarity of mind while juicing. Solid foods slow down your system, juicing is a great time to go inward, reflect, and develop new insights. For that very reason, meditation, nature hikes, turning off your cell phone and yoga are fantastic additions to add to your detoxification juicing protocol!

2) Detox! Detox! Detox!

With all of these viruses floating around now is the time to detox! Juicing allows the body to heal from injury and disease by eliminating toxic wastes. The energy used for digestion can now go towards healing your body from ailments it couldn’t heal before.

3) Go Raw

Raw produce offers better nutrition than cooked foods. Many enzymes die at high heat, so eating raw foods ensures you get all the enzymes and nutrients you need. If you can, take this opportunity to go completely raw while you juice, do so!

4) Save money and stop wasting food

Did you know juicing allows you to squeeze out every drop of goodness and money from your organic produce! You might as well get the most from the foods you buy. When you squeeze out the juice from raw fruits and vegetables, you receive a concentration of nutrition! You get all the minerals, vitamins, and enzymes that might not otherwise be available in whole foods. You also can utilize food scraps such as kale stems in your juice! These are hard to digest foods that would otherwise be thrown in the trash!

My Biggest Health Secrets Revealed

Every day I’m contacted with the same question. I mean I get the EXACT SAME DARN QUESTION that is just worded differently EVERY DAY!

It’s a bit personal but I’m going to share it with all of you. Whether on social media, through my website, or from strangers I meet in everyday life, the same question pops up.

THE QUESTION: How do you look younger every year?

Despite the small percentage of naysayers (aka the small group of haters that hide behind fake accounts and big computer screens) that claim it must be botox or surgery, the majority of people can see that my appearance stems from a very holistic place.

The truth is I can’t get botox or fillers. I’ve suffered from psoriasis on and off for years. Unfortunately, those types of chemicals would create a flare-up that would have me covered in psoriasis for months! It’s just not worth it! In all honesty, If I could I would and y’all know I would be filming those procedures for you!

The truth is I actually practice what I preach! I juice every day, spend a lot of time in nature with my dogs and have been vegan (mostly raw) for 21 years. When I share my age with people the first thing I get is “OMG, YOU ARE LYING”! Um, no, I’m actually not!

Today I’m going to share a few of my anti-aging secrets to help you begin to take your health to the next level. Tomorrow I’ve got an even sweeter surprise! I’m going to invite you in on an even BIGGER secret! Sound good? AWESOME!

For today let’s just call this Andrea’s Alkalizing Anti Aging Tips! Sound good?

My Top anti-ging Tips!

1) Just say no to the diet foe

Your first step in taking your health to the next level while upping your anti-aging game is to let go of any attachments you might have to diets. Your hormones, physiology, lifestyle, profession, and environment are all continually changing and evolving. What may have worked for you in the past is exactly that, your past! If your goal is to make progress with your health and unlock your body’s full anti-aging potential, it’s time to learn the easy way!

Stop with all these fad “diets” Start by eating whole nutrient-dense foods. Be more aware of portion control. You don’t need to jump right into this restricted “diet” to get the results you want. You just need to start SOMEWHERE. 95% of diets fail and most will regain their weight back… why? Because you’re choosing a way of eating that isn’t maintainable or long term. This is why I have my clients follow my light to a heavy concept! This is what I teach them during our coaching calls! My clients NEVER cut portions! They don’t do the low carb keto lie! 

One thing I do have my clients do is to dump the white flour, white sugar, and the majority if not all of the animal products they consume! Bottom line, You are what you eat!

2) Dump the toxic make-up!

Ok ladies this is a MUST! Although I don’t want to list what I use and what I stay away from let’s just say this… I have an entire section on my website dedicated to the ONLY cosmetic line I will use! Heck, I even have my own skincare oil that was created just for me by an esthetician! You can find all of those paraben-free, cruelty-free products here!

3) Stop over-exercising to make up for the binge you had the night before!

Yes, you can pursue fitness and heal your relationship with food.⁣⁣ But if you’re obsessing over calories burned, your weight, all the things you dislike about your body and you’re fueling your workouts with self-hatred, something that is good will become toxic quickly.⁣⁣

As a fitness model, I had to discipline myself to shift the dialogue in my head around working out.⁣⁣ I stopped letting my Fitbit run the show. ⁣I stopped allowing the guilt to creep in over how much I ate the day before. I stopped hating my body! In fact, I love my body more today than when I was on the cover of magazines! I started repeating affirmations every day and you know what… that shit really works!

As far as exercise goes, gentle movements such as nature hikes, rebounding, and yoga are where it’s at for anti-aging exercise.

4) Stop believing (or even giving a shit) about what other people think! It causes wrinkles!

If I would have believed what other people said about me rather than what I know to be true about myself, I would have never had the opportunity to impact SO MANY women and men’s lives!

What an honor it’s been and continues to be to know I have worked with and impacted thousands of lives (including quite a few celebrities)! Heck, I think I may have impacted millions of lives if we include social media. Freeing myself from a deadly eating disorder and body struggles have allowed space for so much more freedom in other areas of my life, specifically the weight of other people’s opinions.⁣ Had I believed or given any energy into the negative that the 2% said about me, I wouldn’t be here sharing with all of you today!

In fact, let me take a moment and encourage all of you to take a moment to say THANK YOU to all of the naysayers! They are the reason you are leveling up today!

5) Get some sleep!

This is one of the most overlooked anti-aging tips in my opinion! It’s also the reason I bailed on three engagements! LOL! If it (or he) doesn’t bring you peace (and sleep), RUN! It is a scientific FACT that adequate rest and deep REM (rapid eye movement) sleep on a regular schedule is essential to feeling great and staying youthful. Sleep allows your body (and your skin) to regenerate, repair, and heal.

6) Get you some Red light therapy baby!

Red light beds (I have one in my home, they have salons everywhere) are said to help reduce cosmetic skin issues, like stretch marks and wrinkles. I began using a red-light bed to heal my psoriasis in a doctor’s office. I noticed immediately the effect it had on my skin! Although red-light therapy used in a medical office setting may be used to treat more serious conditions, like psoriasis, slow-healing wounds, and even the side effects of chemotherapy, it is an excellent anti-ager and really helps your body to develop a good sleep-wake cycle.

7) Hydrate like the fishy you are!

Look, you don’t have to be a Pisces to drink water like a fish! Hydration is key in anti-aging! I eat a plethora of raw water-filled fruits and vegetables to stay hydrated! I also harvest my own spring water and add a few secret ingredients that I’ll be sharing in an upcoming video! So if you aren’t already subscribed, you may do so here!

Juicing For Health

About twenty years ago I healed my gut and my life by making several lifestyle changes that I’m going to share with you below. I was suffering pretty bad and felt trapped eating six small meals a day as a fitness model. Every day was another day of trying not to upset my stomach. At one point my Crohn’s disease had me weakened down to a mere 97 pounds. Darn that Diarrhea! I didn’t leave the house other than going to the farmers market or gym. I was living in Ohio and there weren’t a lot of people who were educated on digestive issues. Like I said, I made several lifestyle changes but the number one change was, I began juicing every single day. In fact, I’ve not missed a day of juice in twenty years.

Ok, Now for the Tips and a few Juice Recipes too!

I began juicing cabbage daily. Cabbage juice is extremely healing for not just Crohn’s disease but ALL digestive disorders. I even began including small amounts of cabbage into my salads.

I started a regular yoga practice. I actually got into my yoga so much that I didn’t miss a day for two years straight!

I prayed. Yep! Sure did! I prayed to my angels and guides that my gut would heal completely.

I STOPPED stressing out about being perfect! Knowing that none of us are truly perfect, I let that “smit” go!

I stayed on my vegan diet! Of course ….I stayed on my vegan journey. I was already vegan at that time for two years. Some doctors were actually blaming my plant based lifestyle! I knew they were wrong. My intuition was SCREAMING that I was on the right path. My mother also encouraged me to stay the course.

I began taking probiotics and even created my own pro and pre-biotic called smiling gut! Today I include cabbage in my diet once or twice per week. I’ve been known to sneak it into other people’s food too. Cabbage and probiotics are key when healing digestive disorders. No pharmacy needed:)But it’s the type of pro-biotic that counts! I consider my “Smiling-Gut” pro-biotic to be the best on the market today. 

I kept things simple! It’s easy to get carried away with newby enthusiasm when you begin your health journey! You’ll be making elaborate concoctions comprising multiple fruits and vegetables! I once had a client call me and tell me that she tried to juice an avocado!

Juice as your first meal of the day

The best way to begin juicing is to replace your breakfast With a 32 ounce juice. Swish the juice around with your saliva like you’re at a wine tasting. A 32 ounce juice should take you a minimum of 15 minutes to drink. The idea is to nourish the cells into not craving the bad stuff but craving the good. Juicing first thing in the morning is like a blood transfusion to your body.

Juice in batches

One of the biggest complaints my clients make is that they don’t have the time to juice. In my opinion this is a poor excuse to not gain the healthy benefits that juicing provides. I usually do two different types of juices in one day, and store the second in a closed jar in the fridge (it can keep for up to 72 hours). Although it loses a few enzymes it doesn’t lose enough to not gain all the health full benefits. You can also freeze your juice for up to 3 months (though I use frozen juice within a week) without experiencing any significant loss of quality. Freezing juice is convenient because you can thaw frozen juice when you don’t have the time or the ingredients to make it fresh. The nutritional quality of frozen juice (especially when you freeze it immediately, use it quickly and pack it correctly) is high enough to make it worth the effort. And frozen juice trumps no juice. To freeze juice simply fill glass canning jars up and leave an inch at the top before sealing. This way they won’t burst.

Take it slow when coming from a SAD diet!

Many people turn to this lifestyle after eating a “SAD” diet (Standard American Diet). They end up attempting to juice and a week later, they’re selling the juicer on the Internet because it “didn’t work for them”.

Juicing is not a magical pill you take to heal your ailments. It takes time and you must stick with it. But over time there is no way to heal the body more than to begin juicing. It actually changes your body on a cellular level for the positive. Alkalizing you from the inside out. I often tell my clients it’s like a peeling of an onion. The best anti-aging cream does not compare with juicing.

Don’t start off fasting on juice Almost everyone who purchases their first juicer does so wanting to fast. We all try juice fasts, or replace all our food with juice eventually once we get into this lifestyle. This gives our digestive system a much needed break. While this can be great to detox, you might also burn out with all that juicing, and lose your motivation for it completely. Remember to make juicing a part of your lifestyle which means incorporating it into your day, whether it’s one juice a day or more. Slowly ease yourself into it so it becomes a habit, not a hardship.

The Straight Up Sexy!

2 Large cucumbers

2 granny smith apples

one bunch celery

Run through the juicer and enjoy!

 

Charming Chocolate Milk

1 pound of carrots

1 head of Romain

a few drops of chocolate stevia (this tastes like chocolate milk)!

Run through the juicer and enjoy!

Love Thy Liver Juice (On days that I want a little liver cleansing)

2 green apples (less sugar)
8 pieces of flat leaf kale
1 small lemon rind included
1 half inch piece of ginger (any more will kill the juice)
2 cucumbers
1 medium beet

This is a delicious combination that gently detoxes the liver once you add the beet.

My favorite detox green juice recipe is my Green Goddess

Ingredients

1 bunch Celery
1 Cucumber
1/2 inch of ginger
A handful of parsley
1 Apple (I prefer green)
Instructions

Put everything through a juicer and enjoy.
TIP: This can be done by blender. You will just need to strain the pulp for it to be a juice. It is okay to just drink as is after blending. It’s a great source of fiber.

The healthy anti aging habit I’ve done daily for 17 years

17 Years ago today I transitioned onto a 100% raw food vegan diet. Today I am still 100% vegan (YAY)! I do occasionally cook a few meals here and there but I am ALWAYS certain to NOT consume animal product or their bi products!

I truly believe this is why I have maintained a size 0/2 for almost 2 decades!

WITHOT HOURS OF CARDIO! WITHOUT HEAVY WORKOUTS AND WITOUT EATING A “SAD” STANDARD AMERICAN DIET (that high protein thing will age you like crazy)!!!

Another KEY component in both my weight and anti aging routine has been to juice EVERY DAY! Monday was a day of celebrating 17 YEARS OF DAILY JUICING (unless I was fasting)!

Why not wake up tomorrow and make it day #1 for you! The benefits are endless! It’s like a blood transfusion of vitamins and minerals!
