 Good morning lovely, 

Before I share with you my secret recipe so you will NEVER be constipated again! Let me give you what you really came here for! MOJO anyone?

This is where I’m supposed to give you something motivating right? I mean it being Monday & all! You expect that from me, right?

Today’s motivation is called TRUTH! It’s something I try to practice but have NOT perfected! They say your ego is your souls worst enemy. I believe this to be true. I’m the queen of saying “when this happens I’ll be happy” or “when that happens I’ll be happy”. I use to say “when I fit into a size 2 again I’ll be happy”. I got back into a size 2 a year ago. Then I said “when my product line is done, I’ll be happy”. It’s done! Once I’m married, I’ll be happy! I’ve been engaged three times & none of them made me happy! You know why? Because it took me this long to realize that happiness is an inside job! It doesn’t happen once everything falls into place! We MUST make it happen! Depending on someone else for it is a very dangerous road! Once that person leaves or once you decide to leave them you’re right back where you started, ALONE WITH YOUR EGO!

THE TRUTH IS 

I’ve been complaining for the last 5 months about why I can’t seem to get to the gym first thing in the morning. I had gone EVERY morning for 20 years! The past few months had me in bed with my laptop on my lap plugging away at my business! I was becoming miserable & thats not who I am! I began blaming those around me (EGO)! This morning I put a plug into that drainpipe of negativity! I woke at 3am got my work done & headed to the boxing studio! My run afterward was a tough reminder of how my body CRAVED that early morning movement!

Ten ways to detox daily & feel better today!

 1) The Grape Miracle! The Brandt Grape Cure was developed in the 1920s. I’m not going to get into the exact protocol but I am going to tell you how I use grapes below! 

  • Up until last year I actually didn’t care for them at all. I preferred more sweet tasting fruits like figs, dates and cherimoyas! Then a girlfriend of mine popped them in the freezer! WOW! My favorite treat! Took them with me today and ate 3 pounds of them yesterday! If you are going to enjoy grapes, I suggest you eat them as a mono meal! Mmm! I ♡ me some grapes:)

    2) Divine frozen
    3) Full of antioxidants

    2) NAPPING Taking even a 20 minute nap between the hours of noon-3pm has proven to benefit both cognitive function and bodily functions! I try to nap at least 3 times per week.     3) COLON CLEANSING The way you begin your mornings is vital to how the rest of your day will flow! Due to traveling over the last 3 days, my mornings haven’t been flowing like I prefer them to. This is why I made sure to get up early this morning to clean out my colon and start the day with my favorite lemonade! Colon cleansing is imperative in todays world! Look into coffee enemas and colonics! Be sure to find a REPUTABLE THERAPIST! They are hard to come by!     7) SPEND TIME WITH POSITIVE PEOPLE  When we surround ourselves with people who love us and who we to enjoy being around our lives begin to just FLOW! We sleep better. We feel more motivated! We just enjoy life more and the little things that tend to bother us simply disappear! Find your tribe and keep it small~ less friends, less drama! You don’t need to have a tribe of 30 to be happy!     8) LOVE ON YOUR FURRY FRIENDS! To love is to have a dog! I truly believe this! Having pets around and the simple act of just holding a dog, cat or bunny really does reduce anxiety! Hi there:) Between work, chasing after the kids, running errands, caring for aging parents and trying to keep your body healthy, who has time to slow down? Is it just me or does it seem like everyone is in a rush these days yet no-one is getting anything done! 

News Flash~Your body is well aware of these chronic stressors we call “life”! Its screaming for you to “slow down and just be! When you repeatedly get stressed, your nervous system stays stirred up. Even small amounts of stress can make you feel overwhelmed.

Today as I sit in Mexico with my boyfriend, his son and two amazing dogs, I realize its 5pm and I’ve been in my bikini all day. Mexico does that to me. It slows me down and I don’t mind a bit! I always feel refreshed when I return home ready to tackle my week!

Here are my top 7 Tips for learning to slow down~de ~stress and  relax!

2) PRACTICE YOGA OFTEN The facts are in! The benefits of yoga far surpass any other exercise out there. For me, yoga is my moving meditation! Ive practiced 3-7 days per week for over 7 years now and find the benefits are long lasting for days after class. Aim for 3-5 sessions per week. 

3) VISUALIZATION A therapist told me I needed to visualize years ago, I laughed then went and bought a book on it! Nothing can bring peace like visualizing yourself on a far away island listening to the ocean waves crashing around you while you are on your lunch break in your office! Try it and see for yourself!

4) STOP THE STIMULANTS I recently stopped taking a green tea pill and I cannot tell you how incredibly taxing it was! I had a headache for three days! We are talking green tea with all its benefits! Bottom line here is that any and all caffeine will rev you up then drop you like a one night stand:) Ditch the coffee and replace it with a caffeine free herbal tea! Your adrenal glands and partner will thank you (less moodiness)!

5) GET YOUR HANDS ON A GOOD ADRENAL GLANDULAR Nothing supports the adrenal glands after a long stressful period in life than a good nights sleep and a great adrenal glandular! Your adrenal glands support energy production in the body. When we are in that “go go go rat race” they can crash and burn out! This leaves you feeling tired and ran down! 7) MOVE YOUR BODY EVEN ON YOUR “REST DAY” Exercise is as important daily as breath! Our lymphatic system doesn’t pump on its own, we must move so it can do its job to pump that lymphatic fluid that carries toxins out of our body! Even if only for 20 minutes~move daily! Your body, heart and mind will thank you!

7 Tips to becoming more emotionally healthy

Cultivate strong relationships~ Develop and maintain strong relationships with people around you who will support and enrich your life. The quality of our personal relationships has a great effect on our wellbeing. Putting time and effort into building strong relationships can and will bring great rewards. Studies actually show that married people live healthier longer lives! The proof is literally in the pudding!

Exercise everyday~ I’m not saying you have to become a professional body builder. The facts however are well known~exercise releases endorphins that are mood boosting! One of the best mood boosting exercises I know is to rebound! Yep! Rebounding has been proven to boost your mood! The average rebounder can be bought for around $200. Eat right! ~Physical and mental health are closely linked; it’s easier to feel good about life if your body feels good. Try to replace one meal per day with a liquid meal. I prefer my clients use the all mighty all powerful juice! This gives your body a break from digestion! Try to consume at least 75% of your fruits and vegetables in their raw natural state. Eat only when you are hungry and stop when you are 80% full. No one feels good when they are stuffed!

Challenge yourself~ When is the last time you read a book, completed a crossword puzzle or challenged yourself to memorize someones name, birthday phone number and address instead of logging it into your cell phone? Learning improves your mental fitness, it expands your brains capacity and creates a sense of calm throughout the body by shifting focus off the body.

Helping others in anyway you can is also a wonderful challenge! When I started my YouTube channel it was for that very reason! I never thought in a million years it would end up as it has where I actually get paid to do what I love! By helping others the rewards come ten fold back to us! Try it! 

Try to not take things personally~ Be aware of what triggers you and how you react. Often times we are triggered the most by those we love! You may be able to avoid some triggers simply by sitting the person down who is triggering you and having a heart to heart with them. Express how your feeling and that you need them to approach or speak to you in a different way.


Get 8 hours of sleep per night~ Get plenty of sleep. Try to set a regular bedtime schedule. Sleep restores both your mind and body. When we feel fatigued we can literally “lose it” with ourselves and those we love. No one functions well without proper sleep!

Ask for help.  A perfect, worry-free life does not exist. I find no shame in saying “I have a therapist” and neither should you!  If you don’t get the help you need first off, keep asking until you do. Therapist are like a new pair of jeans, you have to try on a few before you find the perfect fit!

I spent about an hour and a half with her and then returned this evening to teach her class. Within minutes she opened up to me and invited me to open up to her. Much like the last guest I had a month ago…I fell in love with her kind loving heart! Not only is she beautiful on the outside but also on the inside too!

On the drive home I began thinking “yes…we are a lot a like!” We are both “high maintinance women” with HUGE giving, loving honest hearts! Heck I’m proud to call myself “HM” for the first time in my life! To me high maintenance only means you demand people give you their very best and do the same for others! I’ll take that title ANY day of the week!

Today was a beautiful day of two women from different cultures, different up bringing and different lives coming together to share, love and to heal!

 I am forever blessed to be able to LOVE what I do!”



 

A divine salad recipe! VEGAN and NON VEGAN PANCAKE RECIPES! YUM!

 
So here I am “chill~axing” in Mexico and I thought hmmm what would the beautiful friends at the Healthy Haven like to see this week? Then it hit me…some easy to digest recipes! Enjoy these favorites below!
 
Curry tofu with dried fruit and seeds!
1/2 C pineapple
1/3 C dried cranberries
1 of Andrea’s “sticky balls” (dates, walnuts, sunflower and pumpkin seeds rolled into balls and dusted in dried coconut)
1/2 C hemp (soy free) tofu
1 tsp turmeric
1TB curry powder
1 TB hemp seeds
 
Combine tofu with curry, coconut oil and turmeric set aside.
cover a large plate with raw spinach, break up Andrea’s sticky ball, add pineapple and dried cranberries place curried tofu on top and add hemp seeds! BOOM! Enjoy without shame or guilt!

To enjoy the journey is to find peace!

Today and everyday I am choosing to “enjoy the journey”! This was said to me years ago by my mentor while I was in the depths of my detoxification process as I healed my body on living foods. I can remember calling him in tears asking when “this will end”? When will the old stuff stop coming up? Why was my mind cleansing even more than my physical body? How can I possibly move through so much pain at once?

I’ll never forget his words to me. He said Andrea… what good is the journey if we are not enjoying our walk down the path along the way”? That was the very first moment I began to “relax” into what is in order to allow what was to come.

Its been quite a long road and the road has had many bumps along the way. The one thing I’ve learned beyond all others is that if we don’t allow the pain to come up and FEEL through it, we will never allow for the sunshine and rainbows to come through. 

Today, I encourage each and every one of you to FEEL through your pain! Love yourself along the journey and to allow everything that is meant to flow into and out of your life to do so. I promise you that any pain you are feeling now will soon be replaced with some of the most beautiful sun filled days of your life.

I love you and believe in you! Have the BEST week ever!

What can I say, every single client I take on to cleanse has a special place in my heart. This woman is especially dear to me. Kathy spent a week in Mexico cleansing her body and did an absolutely fabulous job! Her resilience is contagious! This woman has been through a lot having had breast cancer. Her attitude about life is one I strive to adopt! She is a mother, wife, Grandmother, cancer survivor and what I like to call “A warrior”! We laughed, cried and attempted to…learn Spanish through Google to translate to a sweet gal that was assisting me while there:)

I think Miss Kathy has more than a special place in my heart. I think she got into my soul as well! Thank you Kathy! You my new friend are a one of a kind hero, mother and inspiration!

DETOX TIP OF THE DAY: Move your body within the first hour of waking! The lymphatic system is most responsive then! Try rebounding, walking or playing with your loving furry friend!

Five tips to detox daily!

 

Keeping your body detoxed on a cellular level is an important aspect in maintaining good digestion, a healthy sleep wake cycle and a flowing lymphatic system! It just so happens that Spring time is the perfect time to detox! We are overloaded with toxins on a daily basis! Simply breathing in the air can overload our system and send us into toxic load over drive! I believe that in order to combat these effects we should do at least one thing to detoxify every day and a deeper cleanse such as my Digital Detox at the beginning of every season! Once per year a much deeper week long cleanse such as heading off to a retreat like the ones I offer at my Alkalize with Andrea retreats should be taken on!  
 
       1.Move the body! Enjoy these tips on how to detox the       body daily! The lymphatic system is at the hub of everything running correctly in the body. It carries lymph fluid and toxins and excretes them through various methods such as the skin and urine. We must move the body daily to assist the lymph system in pumping properly! My suggestion is a brisk one mile walk right upon waking followed by 5-10 minutes on the rebounder. This will assure that everything is flowing properly.

Got clay? Humic and fulvic acid found in specific types of clay (such as my Evening Formula found here https://andreacox.com/shop/andreas-evening-formula/) will not only detox you on a cellular level, they will also re mineralize you! 1 heaping TB before breakfast is a great way to cleanse the entire digestive track!dirty water
  1. Drink warm water with lemon and apple cider vinigar upon raising Drinking a glass of warm water with a squeeze of lemon and 2 TB of apple cider vinegar is an EXCELLENT way to cleanse the body! Do this daily upon rising! It will get everything moving in the right direct

Eat more fruits and vegetables! Fiber along with antioxadants are SO very important!  Fiber keeps us regular! The best way to get in your daily fiber is by filling up on the good guys first! The good guys” being fruits and vegetables! Stick to fresh organic, locally grown in season fruits and vegetables! Try to eat the majority of these raw! Antioxidants are full of nutrients that actually de age us! Yep! So pack those fruits in! Especially those deep in color such as blueberries!

  1. Stay hydrated with fresh green juices and loads of alkaline water! Drinking clean water is one of the best things you can do for your health. I prefer spring water collected from a natural spring. This will flush, flush, flush toxins out of the body! Drink at least half your body weight in water! Green juices sweetened with a small amount of grapes, green apple or pineapple are also extremely hydrating! Pinch a little cinnamon on top to stabilize blood sugar!juice2
